How to add a keyboard layout in Windows 10
- Click on the Start Menu. It's the Windows icon in the bottom left corner.
- Click on Settings.
- Click on Time & language.
- Click on Region & language.
- Click on the language you wish to add a keyboard layout to.
- Click on Options.
- Click on Add a keyboard.
- Click on the keyboard you want to add.
How to change the keyboard layout in Windows 10
Please note, that to change a keyboard layout using the following method, you need to have more than one keyboard layout added to your language settings. See how to add a keyboard layout in Windows 10 if you need help with that.
- Press and hold the Windows key
- Press spacebar.
Pressing spacebar multiple times will toggle through the list of keyboard layouts you have; the layout you currently have selected will always be highlighted. See the image above for an example.

Windows 10 Redstone 5 development is happening! Here's a list of all the changes coming in Microsoft's next big Windows 10 update.
Windows 10 Redstone 5 is the next major update to Windows 10 coming this fall, and its development is now well underway. With every new Insider preview build, comes a list of new features and changes. Here's our consolidated changelog for Windows 10 Redstone 5 that we will continue to update throughout development.
For the first time, we're also including a list of fixes Microsoft has provided for this release too. As always, you can also check out the the official Windows Blog for more information on everything new in this release.
Windows Shell
- File Explorer now features a dark theme when Dark Mode is enabled in Settings.
- You can now right-click a folder to open in new tab in File Explorer.
- Some context menus now feature drop-shadow effects.
- Some context menus now feature Fluent Design acrylic effects.
- The "New Tab" page in Microsoft Edge now includes local apps as well as websites.
- You can now name live folders in Start.
- A new "safe removal" feature has been added that lists open applications that might be using an external GPU connected via Thunderbolt 3.
- Notifications in the Action Center now feature a fade-in effect when the Action Center is opened.
- A redesigned snipping experience is present and can be accessed via WIN + SHIFT + S.
- Snips will now present a notification that will open up into Screen Sketch, which is now a dedicated app.
- You can now configure pen peripherals to take a snip when pressing a button.
- The Print Screen button can now be configured to open Screen Sketch.
- A new "Screen snip" action has been added to the Action Center.
- Timeline now features a blurred background and updated design.
- Copied content can now be seen in a new clipboard experience, accessed with WIN+V, that can also sync across devices.

Settings

- The Edge settings pane has been redesigned to look like the Hub area.
- Edge can now control whether video is allowed to automatically play on a webpage.
- Reading View now features more themes in Edge.
- Reading View now features line focus that helps improve focus while reading an article.
- Edge will now ask to save your card info when you fill out billing-related forms.
- A new icon for PDFs is present.
- The PDF reader has an updated toolbar with additional options including "add notes."
- You can now pin/unpin the toolbar at the top of the PDF document.

General Fixes & Changes
- Other than for first setup, you no longer have to have a monitor connected to your PC when using Windows Mixed Reality.
- Apps running in Windows Mixed Reality can now make use of the Camera Capture UI API to capture images of the mixed reality world using the system capture experience.
- Updated the touch keyboard so that if you try to shapewrite in an unsupported text field or when the typing resources aren't installed, you won't see the shapewriting trail as you swipe your finger over the keys.
- Fixed an issue which may have caused a Microsoft Edge tab to crash after playing video when some extensions are enabled
- Fixed an issue where the touch keyboard showed an English layout with no IME on/off key when an East Asian keyboard is the only input method on your system.
- Fixed an issue that could result in the mouse cursor suddenly jump to screen corner while mouse was moving in a List Control.
- Updated the "Advanced graphics settings" link on the Display Settings page to now just say "Graphics Settings".

- Fixed an issue when using Arabic as your display language where after using the X to close the touch keyboard in a UWP app text field it might stop coming up automatically in that field.
- Sometimes having too many choices can be confusing and less is more. That is why this new build has consolidated the places where users can adjust their display brightness by removing the display brightness slider in Control Panel Power Options and the "Display brightness" section under Power Options Advanced Settings.
- Fixed an issue where Reveal would sometimes not appear if you moved your mouse over and off an element repeatedly.
- Fixed an issue resulting in a noticeable screen flicker when the screen adjusts after rotating your device.
- Fixed an issue where the spellchecking menu would always appear on the primary monitor on PCs with multiple monitors, rather than the monitor with the red squiggled word.
- Fixed an issue where File Explorer would always open with the ribbon minimized, rather than remembering how you'd left it. Fixed an issue where elements on the main page of the Windows Defender Security Center app would slightly change size on mouse hover.
- Fixed an issue where non-default languages might unexpectedly have the option to remove in Settings greyed out.
- Fixed an issue where the Color Filters and High Contrast icons were switched in Settings.
- Fixed an issue where clicking links in Settings that launched other apps would result in Settings crashing and nothing else happening.
- Fixed an issue resulting in some people experiencing a Settings crash when navigating to Apps > Default Apps > Set defaults by App.
- Fixed an issue in Microsoft Edge where dragging a favorite from one folder in the favorites bar to another didn't work.
- When you clean install or do a PC refresh, you'll find that the Out of Box Experience for setting up your PC now includes a page for enabling activity history sync, which will help you continue what you were doing, even when you switch devices.
- Adjusted how you access skin tones in the Emoji Panel – you'll now see a row of skin tone colors to select from when people emoji are in view.
- Fixed an issue where using arrow and Page Up / Page Down keys didn't work to scroll webpages in Microsoft Edge.
- Fixed an issue resulting in the Game Bar not appearing for some Insiders after pressing WIN+G.
- When you hover over the Windows icon in the taskbar, a tooltip will now appear for Start.

- Fixed an issue where if the taskbar jump list didn't show (for example if you clicked away before it finished launching), the next time you watched a video full screen the taskbar would unexpectedly appear on top of the video.
- Fixed an issue where the wallpaper and app preview thumbnails were unexpectedly flipped when using Task View in Arabic or other bidirectional display languages.
- Screen snipping (WIN + Shift + S, or other entry points) will now default to rectangular snipping. Your most recent mode selection (rectangular or freeform) is preserved across invocations, so you may not notice a change if you have already been using this experience.

- Fixed an issue where on demand features that were less than 1 MB (such as RSAT: IPAM Client) would fail to install.
- Fixed an issue resulting in certain Bluetooth devices, like the NOAHLink, not connecting after upgrading.
- Fixed the bug that was impacting driver testing scenarios where executing HLK Component/Device driver tests might havecaused abugcheck that blocked test execution.
- Fixed the issue causing the Game bar to crash on x86 machines.
- To improve clarity, we've separated Settings > Privacy > Speech, Inking & typing into two settings: Settings > Privacy > Speech and Settings > Privacy > Inking & typing personalization.

- When using the touch keyboard you'll find that the clipboard button is now always visible in the candidate pane. Tapping it will bring up your clipboard history for you to browse and paste from.
- Shapewriting on the touch keyboard is now available when using English (Australia)!
- Fixed an issue where if you had previously performed a Find using Narrator's Find feature and you brought up the dialog the text would not have been cleared from the field.
- Updated Ease of Access flyout on the login screen so that Narrator now has an on / off toggle.
- Azure Active Directory and Active Directory users using Windows Hello for Business can use biometrics to authenticate to a remote desktop session!
